$733M for a Dialog Box

I guess the EU didn’t buy Microsoft’s explanation that a “technical glitch” resulted in EU Windows customers not being given a choice to remove IE and install a competing web browser. Now Microsoft is on the hook for a whopping $733M fine.

Technical glitch: Everyone knows that’s pure BS. This was a management glitch, not an engineering glitch. It’s a dialog box right?

Anyway, it doesn’t really matter why this happened. What’s important is that it happened. $733M is a lot of coin and likely a small percentage of the actual overall cost to Microsoft.

I think the EU should donate the fine to Linus Torvalds.
